Motorized Cellular Shades
Motorized, or automatic cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are a type of window treatment that consists of a series of cells, or pockets, that trap air to provide insulation and energy efficiency. They are similar in design to traditional cellular shades, but with the added convenience of motorization.
Motorized cellular shades operate in much the same way as motorized roller shades, with a motor that is connected to the roller tube. However, instead of rolling up or down, the fabric material of the cellular shade is gathered and expanded, causing the cells to expand or contract as the shade is raised or lowered.
Like motorized roller shades, motorized cellular shades offer a number of benefits over traditional manual shades, including convenience, ease of use, and increased energy efficiency. They can be easily programmed to open and close at specific times of day, which can help to regulate temperature and light levels in a room. Additionally, many motorized cellular shades can be integrated with home automation systems, allowing them to be controlled remotely via a smartphone app or voice command.
